The real beauty of Māʻalaea Harbor is how close it is to Maui’s best snorkeling spots. With Maui Snorkeling, you can easily reach these amazing underwater places:
Cráter Molokini
Molokini’s crescent-shaped volcanic scenery makes it one of Maui’s most memorable offshore destinations. When conditions allow, you can snorkel above the reef and look for tropical fish. The crossing, visibility, and water conditions vary, so your captain will decide whether Molokini fits the day’s itinerary.
- Coral and Reef Habitat: Look for coral formations and the fish that shelter around them. Observe without touching or standing on the reef.
- Possible Dolphin Sightings: Keep an eye out from the boat, but consider any sighting a bonus rather than an expected part of the trip.
Pueblo Tortuga
Turtle Town is known for opportunities to spot Hawaiian green sea turtles, or honu, around South Maui’s reefs. Sightings aren’t guaranteed, which makes an encounter especially memorable. NOAA recommends staying at least 10 feet away on land and in the water. Never touch, chase, feed, or block a turtle’s path.
Coral Gardens offers reef scenery and opportunities to see tropical fish along Maui’s coastline when conditions are suitable.
- Condiciones para hacer snorkel: Wind, swell, and visibility affect the experience here, just as they do at other reefs. Your captain will choose the location based on the day’s conditions.

Choose a five-hour morning adventure or a shorter three-hour afternoon outing. Both include snorkel gear, meals, drinks, and crew guidance, with shaded seating and onboard restrooms.
New to snorkeling? Let the crew know. You don’t need previous snorkeling experience, but you should be able to swim independently and feel comfortable in deep water. Flotation and instruction support your experience; they don’t replace swimming ability.

Nuestra mañana Tour de snorkel en el cráter Molokini runs from 7 a.m. to approximately noon, with check-in at 6:30 a.m. We plan to stop at Molokini and Turtle Town, though the captain may choose alternate reefs when conditions call for it. Breakfast, lunch, snorkel gear, and drinks are included.
During winter whale season, watch for humpback sightings from the boat. Wildlife encounters are a special bonus, not something we can promise.
Prefer a slower start to your vacation day? Our Tour de snorkel por la tarde en Maui departs at 1 p.m. and returns around 4 p.m., with check-in at 12:30 p.m. Coral Gardens is the usual destination, but the captain may choose another reef depending on conditions. Lunch, snorkel gear, and drinks are included.
When the location and ocean conditions allow, the crew may also open the waterslide. It ends in open ocean, so follow crew instructions and use it only if you can swim independently and feel comfortable in deep water.
