Maui Snorkeling is a part of Ma’alaea Kai Enterprises. Since 1985, Maui Snorkeling has taken nearly 1 million people of all ages to snorkel in Maui’s beautiful waters. Our mission is to have the best and cleanest all-inclusive snorkeling experience for guests of all abilities. We welcome honeymooners, anniversary celebrants, couples, seniors, and families of all ages.
We are a small, family-owned business and our mission is to allow everyone to enjoy the beautiful people and places of Maui and Hawai’i.
Our History
Maui Snorkeling Tours
Since 1985, Maui Snorkeling has embarked on many Molokini Snorkeling Tours and Private Boat Charters. Guests have watched humpback whales during their annual migrations and snorkeled with Maui’s graceful sea turtles. We are proud to be seen as one of the best snorkeling boats in Maui. We work hard every day to keep that reputation. We certainly understand and appreciate the responsibility of carrying the Maui Snorkeling name!
Our boats, Lani Kai I (retired) and Lani Kai II, have carried nearly 1 million passengers. They have served families, honeymooners, seniors, young children, military personnel, and vacationers from all over the world.
Lani Kai was retired in March 2020, and we welcomed the Lani Kai II in August 2020. Lani Kai II is a 53-foot vessel that can accommodate up to 65 passengers. Our snorkeling tours leave out of Ma’alaea Harbor and travel to Molokini Crater, Turtle Town, and Coral Gardens.
Since August 2020, Lani Kai has hosted many big Hollywood films and welcomed professional athletes and many visitors to Maui. We’re dedicated to protecting marine life and celebrating the beauty of Hawai’i through eco-friendly practices. Plus, we offer fun educational tours!

We had an absolutely amazing snorkel trip—truly the highlight of our vacation! All four of our kids (ages 9–12) had the time of their lives. The crew, Morgan and Christian, were fantastic—so friendly, helpful, and great with the kids. Captain Greg was fun, upbeat, and kept the energy high the whole time.
The snorkeling itself was breathtaking. The water was crystal clear, the coral was vibrant, and we saw sea turtles and tons of colorful tropical fish. It felt like swimming through an aquarium.
The food was just right, the music playlist was perfect, and the entire experience was seamless and fun from start to finish.
Huge shoutout to Island Dream Productions for the unbelievable photos! Just plan on buying the photo package when you book your trip—it’s 100% worth it. They captured truly incredible underwater shots of our kids and us parents, and we’ll cherish those memories forever.
