Boat-day tip: Wear your swimsuit to check-in and pack dry clothes for afterward. A second swimsuit is optional if you’re planning another swim later.
2. ミネラルサンスクリーン SPF30+
Choose a broad-spectrum, water-resistant mineral sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. Check that its active ingredients are only zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide, rather than relying on a “reef-safe” label. Maui County prohibits non-mineral sunscreen without a prescription and recommends non-nanotized mineral ingredients.
Check the water-resistance label: Products may specify 40 or 80 minutes of water resistance. That doesn’t mean they’re waterproof.
Follow the application instructions: Reapply as directed, including after swimming or towel-drying, and use protective clothing and shade alongside sunscreen.
A UPF 50+ rash guard protects covered skin from the sun and reduces how much skin you need to cover with sunscreen. We have Maui Snorkeling-branded rash guards on board, available for purchase!
子供、色白肌、そして水上での長時間のアクティビティに最適です。.
A rash guard provides sun coverage, but it isn’t a substitute for a wetsuit when you need insulation.
Choose sunglasses labeled UV400 or 100% UVA and UVB protection. Polarized lenses can also reduce glare, but polarization alone doesn’t tell you whether the lenses provide UV protection.
Add a retainer strap for breezy boat rides.
Store sunglasses in a protective case while snorkeling.
Bring a pair you’ll be comfortable using around sand and saltwater.
A small dry bag keeps your phone, keys, wallet, and spare clothes organized while protecting them from splashes. Check its instructions before assuming it can be submerged.
If you’ll use a phone pouch or camera housing in the water, check the manufacturer’s depth and time limits, inspect the seals, and test it without your device first. Keep essential medication accessible in suitable protective storage.
You don’t need to take your phone snorkeling. Leaving it securely stored aboard can make it easier to focus on the reef.
視力矯正が必要ですか? Contact us before your tour about prescription-mask options and available strengths. You’re also welcome to bring your own properly fitted prescription snorkel mask. For shore days, arrange the equipment you need before arriving at the beach.
Pack a lightweight windbreaker, hoodie, or cover-up for breezy crossings and the ride back. Keep it dry in your bag so you can put it on comfortably after snorkeling. Choose something easy to pull over your swimsuit or dry clothes.
Bring footwear that suits the walk from the parking area to the beach. Sturdy sandals or water shoes can help on hot pavement and uneven paths.
Footwear doesn’t make a difficult ocean entry suitable, and it isn’t permission to walk on coral. Choose an entry that fits your experience and the day’s conditions.
On shore days, you’re responsible for your own snacks and drinks. A soft cooler is ideal for:
水と電解質飲料を追加で摂取
簡単な軽食(クラッカー、果物、サンドイッチ)
Enough ice or frozen packs to keep perishable snacks cold throughout the outing. Keep the cooler shaded and closed between uses. For perishable food, aim to maintain 40°F or below rather than assuming a cooler bag alone will keep lunch cold.
覚えて 魚やカメには何も与えないでください。 環境に優しいガイド to learn why feeding harms the reef and changes animal behavior.
Bring a charged power bank and the cable your phone needs.
Saved maps are useful offline, but screenshots of forecasts and advisories can become outdated. Check current information before heading out, then follow posted warnings and on-site guidance.
