1. Do I need snorkeling experience to snorkel in Maui on the Lani Kai II?

No. The Lani Kai II and its crew are experts in snorkeling and work with beginners. We build our trips to accommodate all ages and abilities. Our ultimate goal is to create a comfortable experience for everyone. We can accomplish that with our snorkeling tours to Molokini, and Turtle Town.

2. Can I bring my baby or young child on a Maui Snorkeling Tour?

Yes…and kids 3 & under are ALWAYS FREE with Maui Snorkeling! Smaller boats, that are more dive or snorkel-centered, usually will not allow young children and babies. However, the Lani Kai II is a 53-foot, family-friendly boat that has plenty of seating and shaded areas, an old-school slide, boogie boards, swimming “noodles”, flotation devices, and ladders at the rear of the boat for easy access. And don’t forget, we’ll feed your crew at no additional cost on every Maui Snorkeling tour!

3. How often do people get seasick on your boat?

While we have not done any highly scientific analysis, we can tell you that very few people get seasick while snorkeling with us. Of course, there are seasons that have witnessed higher rates because of windier periods with rougher seas, but it is not the “norm”. Typically speaking, you will usually see fewer people getting seasick on midsized boats in Maui than on the smaller boats in Maalaea Harbor.

4. Can I bring my own sunscreen?

Yes, but it has to be reef-friendly. The entire crew at Maui Snorkeling and the Lani Kai II is committed to the protection of the waters around Maui and to the environment overall. We provide access to several containers of reef-friendly sunscreen on the boat, which you are welcome to use. We also sell sun shirts on the boat, which protect against harmful UV rays while keeping the swimmer warm.

5. What food do you serve on the Lani Kai?

The 5-hour Maui snorkeling tour Zu Molokini Und Schildkrötenstadt features an early morning continental breakfast and a late morning deli-style lunch. The 3-hour afternoon snorkeling tour Zu Molokini-Krater offers a deli-style lunch. All food and drink is free on the tour.

6. Do you serve alcohol and how much does it cost?

Alcohol is BYOB.

7. Do you have a slide?

Yes, we do. We also have boogie boards, swimming “noodles”, flotation devices, and all necessary snorkeling equipment that are all FREE to use.

8. How long are your Maui Snorkeling Tours?

We run 2 different types of snorkeling in Maui. The morning tour is a 5-hour tour that allows our customers to snorkel at Molokini-Krater Und Schildkrötenstadt. Our afternoon snorkeling tour is 3 hours and allows for snorkeling at Molokini-Krater

9. Is your boat crowded?

Unser Molokini morning tours sell out during popular vacation weeks.  However, our Nachmittagstouren are typically less crowded.  For an even better experience, book a private charter and have the Lani Kai II for yourselves!

10. Do I need to know how to swim?

Swimming knowledge is strongly recommended, but not required.  We host a Snorkeling 101 briefing for first-time snorkelers.  We may also limit the locations where you can snorkel.  We provide flotation devices for an extra layer of safety.
